Milk Advertisment

milk

When mummy came home from the supermarket, she showed me this small box of tissues and told me that she got it as a free gift from buying two packets of milk which worth 1 litre each. Then in my mind I was thinking, ‘ mummy you bought 2 litres of milk just to get this small box of tissue or is it that you do not know that you will be getting this box of tissue when you buy the milk.’

So I asked my mum about it and what the answer I had was that, she did not even know she will get this box of tissue until she was making her payments at the cashier. The cashier told her that actually this box of tissue was given out to all those who make a purchase of the brand of milk.

Personally, I think that the milk company has made quite an interesting choice of advertising method, by printing their advertisement on the tissue box. Even though, some people may just bring home the tissues, used it up and throw it away. But at least, there is still a chance of people looking at it for at least once as I believe no one will use all the tissues in the box at one go. Well, to me, I like the concept of the advertisement. I find that the advertisers cleverly make use of the colour pink to associate it with strawberries. That’s why you can see a cow with pink patches on it and also a pink background. The tagline of it is also associated with pink, ‘be in the pink’. The tagline sorts of tell us that for one to be in good health, they need to have milk in their daily life. So when the consumers want to buy milk, the first think that will come into their mind will be this brand of milk no matter what flavor they are choosing. On the tissue box, it is also suggested that this strawberry milk is much healthier that other brands as it has ‘the perfect balance of Highs and Lows’ and it is made with real strawberry juice.

This reminds me of all the times we get free tissue packets from individuals on the streets.
Advertising on a tissue packet is an ingenious idea, saves cost and honestly, everyone in Singapore has this need to carry tissue around for their “booking” purposes.
Agreed that it is a good way of getting people to come back and continue to buy this particular brand of milk, afterall, people enjoy the idea of recieving free items, even small meaningless ones like these, in a sense triggers a person to think that more benefits might probably come with buying this brand in the long run. And with everyone emphasizing on how important it is to keep healthy, it is beneficial to the comapny.
But of course, there are the majority of people who dont borther to take much notice of these advertisment, how much of the percentage of the individuals who recieved these free items, actually looked at the advertisment, might be something to consider.

To Clair, it’s true that some of these people do not really look at the advertisement on the packets of tissue, but as long as when there is some one who bothers to look at the advertisement, even a glimpse, it is already good enough for the company already. They had their target met, to expose their product to more people. =)

Hi, I also like this kind of advertising concept. Having a free gifts, somehow, will attract more people to buy their product.
Publishing their product on tissue box, something that not many advertising company would do, I think do really adversite their product.

Like what you said, tissue is something that everything will use everyday, so printing adverstisement on it, seems to be a wise choice. Haha. =)

Interesting idea, its like killing two bird in one stone. First you get to promote your product using box tissue rather then packet. Box tissue can be put in places like office and share. Others who use the tissue will get to see the promotion even if it’s a glance. For those who don’t go to the market often might not notice products like strawberry milk by HL. They can notice it on the box and might get interested in the product. Secondly, it serves as a response to customer who brought the milk as customers might develop a better sense of satisfaction from getting the freebie. Singaporean are more kiasu and something like that attracts them well. Recent IT show is a great example. Kiasu singaporean will always go to the show for the bargain and freebies regardless of the crowd. Some ended up buying stuff for no pratical reason except it’s on sales.

it just another form of adveristing way to gain attention of the consumers. Well anything that is a freebies no one will be saying no to them. isit a gd way of adveristing? depend on u consumers willing to be trick by these little freebies

    To WootSK & Spoty:
Yup I agree with both of you that, in order for this advertisement to work, it needs the audience to pay attention to it.
If they don’t really have the attention there, no matter how, they will still see it as a normal tissue box where you throw it away after you have finish using it.

I can’t deny its really creative to print adverts on a tissue box. It not only provide consumers with tissue but at the same time advertise on the tissue box, sort of a free advert medium for them. It seriously caught my attention.
